Located in the southern highlands of Tanzania between Mbeya and Njombe regions, Kitulo National Park sits at an altitude of about 2,600 meters above sea level. The park is part of Tanzania’s Southern Safari Circuit and is one of the most important botanical parks in Africa.
The park is made up of large montane grasslands surrounded by mountains and valleys. During the rainy season, the landscape transforms into a colorful field of wildflowers with more than 350 plant species, including many varieties of orchids, lilies, and other rare alpine plants.
Kitulo is especially popular with nature lovers, hikers, and photographers who come to enjoy its peaceful environment and beautiful scenery. The park is also home to several bird species and small wildlife that live in the highland ecosystem.
Because of its unique plant diversity and stunning landscapes, Kitulo National Park is considered one of Tanzania’s most special natural destinations.
